"KnowledgeofSelf" is a masterful collage of grimy hip-hop electronica, spanning 18 tracks of lo-fi late-night jazz. METVLMOUTH displays near-endless creativity from track-to-track - "Œ" contrasts swelling strings and piano stabs with massive kick drums and perfectly chopped vocals, while album closer "Hue" blends soulful crooning with layers of spiraling choirs and mechanical percussion.

Like the majority (probably), I bought the cassette before listening to the album in its entirety. And I did end up finding this sound pretty strange, but I think it's what drew me to listen to it multiple times and actually growing to like it a lot. Edit: Would be nice to have the awesome bonus track available digitally for those who bought the cassette.

I think the whole movement about seven minutes into Mannerism might be the single most gut punching synth I have ever heard. This whole album shifts and moves in such a bewildering way, suddenly changing from dream-like serenity to nightmarish aggression yet somehow sounding all the better for it. Outstanding work.
